بحث وزير المياه والبيئة المهندس توفيق الشرجبي، اليوم، مع وكيل الأمين العام والأمين التنفيذي للإسكوا الدكتورة رولا دشتي، على هامش اعمال مؤتمر الامم المتحدة للمياه المنعقد في نيويورك، القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك في مجال المياه والبيئة وسبل تعزيزها وتطويرها.
واكد المهندس الشرجبي، على أهمية التنسيق المشترك لتحديد أولويات التدخلات في تنفيذ مشاريع البني التحتية والمياه والصرف الصحي والبيئة.. مشدداً على ضرورة أن تكون هناك استراتيجية واضحة وشاملة للتحول من المساعدات الطارئة إلى المساعدات في مجال التنمية المستدامة.
واستعرض الشرجبي، الاحتياجات العاجلة من المشاريع البيئية التي لها اثراً ملموساً على حياة المواطنين.. معرباً عن تطلعه إلى دعم “الاسكوا” لخدمات مشاريع برامج التكيف مع التغيرات المناخية والتنمية المستدامة.. مشيراً إلى أهمية إعادة تبادل المعلومات والتقارير التي من شأنها دفع المانحين لتقديم مزيد من الدعم في مجال المشاريع المستدامة في اليمن.
بدورها أشادت وكيل الأمين العام والأمين التنفيذي للإسكوا بجهود وزارة المياه والبيئة.. مؤكدة على ضرورة استمرار التنسيق والعمل المشترك للاستفادة من المؤتمر للحشد والمناصرة لقضايا المياه في اليمن، بما يهدف الى تنفيذ أهداف التنمية المستدامة في قطاع المياه في اليمن.
